On March 14, according to the official Weibo of China News Service's "Guoshi Zhitongche", on March 13, in view of the tense global situation of COVID-19, UNESCO urgently called for 421 million students in 39 countries and regions around the world to take classes remotely, and DingTalk became the first platform recommended by the United Nations for taking classes at home.
It is understood that DingTalk is a free multi-terminal communication and collaboration platform built by Alibaba Group specifically for Chinese enterprises, and currently provides a PC version, Web version, and mobile version. According to media reports, during the pandemic DingTalk invested heavily, and in order to cope with the dual traffic peaks of online office work and online classes, it continuously expanded more than 100,000 cloud servers on Alibaba Cloud.
Data shows that 140,000 schools and 2.9 million classes in China have started classes on DingTalk, covering 120 million students in more than 30 provinces across the country. 3.5 million teachers nationwide became streamers on DingTalk. Earlier, schools in many countries and regions, including Japan, had already begun using DingTalk to carry out remote teaching.
