March 13 news, global data analysis platform Apple Annie announced the top ten apps by global monthly active users in 2019. Among the top ten, 6 are from China, namely WeChat ranked 4th, Douyin (Tik Tok) ranked 6th, Alipay ranked 7th, QQ ranked 8th, and Taobao and Baidu ranked 9th and 10th respectively. The new 2019 list also shows some changes compared to the 2018 data.

From the new list, it can be seen that apart from China's WeChat, Douyin, Alipay, QQ, Taobao, and Baidu, the remaining 4 popular foreign apps in the top ten are all from Facebook. The top three on the list are all under Facebook, namely WhatsApp Messenger, Facebook, and Facebook Messenger.

According to classification, social apps make up a relatively large proportion of the top ten list, followed by payment and search apps. In terms of ranking, Alipay is ahead of QQ, making it the highest-ranked non-social app on the list. By June 2019, Alipay's global users exceeded 1.2 billion.

On March 10, Alipay announced an upgraded strategy to build the largest global open platform for digital life, committed to digitizing the service industry. Through upgrading and optimizing its own platform, it will lead 50,000 service providers to help 40 million merchants complete digital transformation. It is believed that in the future Alipay will become even more popular and gain more fans and users.
